COVID & Air Purification

September 18, 2020by Patrick Schaible0

With the growing concern about COVID-19, many people are asking about air purification and other ways to make their homes safer. One of the areas of question involves adding an air purifier to their home. Many makes and models exist on the market, and most claim to offer varying degrees of efficacy. However, can any of those devices combat a dangerous virus while eliminating other common contaminants? We at Schaible’s have been interested in the idea but never found a product worthy of our praise in this area. Until now.

Air Purification Systems

In recent years there have been many advancements in residential air purification systems. Some utilize UV lights to destroy contaminants, while others attack mold by controlling humidity. However, if you look for an air purification system with advanced anti-viral properties, there are few choices. To bridge that need, Schaible’s is pleased to introduce the iWave.

What is the iWave?

The iWave is an air purifying device that we install to your air conditioning system. It uses the existing ductwork to distribute ions it produces, to reduce pathogens when air passes through it. These pathogens include allergens, particles, odors, smoke, and other contaminants, resulting in a healthy environment for you and your family. Best of all, the iWave works without producing any harmful byproducts.

Utilizing a patented technology called needlepoint bi-polar ionization (NPBI), iWave creates an equal amount of positive ions and negative ions. Ions enter into the air and break down to combat pollutants and release harmless compounds such as oxygen, water vapor, etc.

The iWave family of products was proven beneficial through independent lab testing in decreasing the amount of a wide variety of pathogens in the air and even hard surfaces.

Who Can Benefit from an iWave Air Purifier?

Anyone looking to improve their air quality can benefit from the iWave. By anyone, we mean residences of all kinds, from condos to single-family homes to large estates. An iWave device is compatible with nearly every dwelling with a standard heating-air conditioning-ventilation system (HVAC).

Additionally, the iWave also has commercial benefits. For example, they effectively reduce Coronavirus, so they would be ideal for healthcare applications such as medical facilities, doctor’s offices, dentist offices, clinics, labs, assisted living homes, and many others.

The iWave is also useful for other commercial uses. A good example is an athletic club or gym. Many patrons are fearful of entering and sharing air with fellow gym-goers who will be huffing and puffing. An iWave can help put them at ease as it cleans the air. The same goes for any other business in which patrons come into close contact with each other.

The iWave Versus Coronavirus

We wouldn’t recommend the iWave without careful, expert consideration. Experts found it to significantly reduce the instance of Coronavirus in a recent study. Below are the significant findings:

  • SARS-CoV-2, also known as COVID 19, entered into an iWave for 30 minutes.
  • The rate of reduction was a whopping 99.4%.
  • This test was done using the iWave-C (GPS-DM48-AC) model.
  • Human Coronavirus 229E, also known as HCoV-229E, was put into an iWave for 60 minutes.
  • The rate of reduction was 90%.
  • This test was done using the Nu-Calgon iWave-R Air Purifier P/N 4900-20 model.
  • Tests were conducted with proprietary NPBI technology.

More iWave Benefits

At Schaible’s, we believe that iWave’s advanced technology provides one of the most effective air purification methods available anywhere. A great benefit is that the iWave doesn’t require as much maintenance as other systems. Other air purification technologies may require ongoing maintenance involving purchasing and installing bulbs or cells every year or two. Why endure a higher cost of ownership and the inconvenience associated with it? The iWave works as one unit with no needed replacement parts. It uses a unique, self-cleaning design to give you years of maintenance-free performance.

The makers of iWave offer a three-year limited warranty on their products. You must provide proof of purchase and installation by a licensed HVAC (we know a guy). Even though the devices are easy to install, you must have a professional installation to validate the warranty. Also, our professionals can help you select the best iWave for your property and air purification needs.

In conclusion

If you are interested in the iWave, or our other HVAC services, you should consider your individual application and environmental conditions when deciding if the iWave and its benefits will work for you. We at Schaible’s are the iWave experts in New Jersey, and our professionals can help you choose the correct model (there are four models) and expertly install them into your heating and cooling system.

The cost of an iWave device and installation is more reasonable than you might expect. And our technicians have relevant years of experience. They always follow proper safety protocols, and you can trust Schaible’s to stand by their work.
