While we rely on our heating and cooling HVAC system to keep our home comfortable, these systems do not clean the indoor air. To provide cleaner, healthier indoor air, Schaible’s can install a whole-house HEPA system capable of removing nearly all allergy-aggravating contaminants, including some of the smallest particles and bacteria. These systems integrate with your HVAC system and will remove unwanted pollutants, including:

  • Germs
  • Viruses
  • Molds
  • Dust
  • Allergens

Adding an air purifier captures and destroys these pollutants before they ever reach you and your family, making for a healthier home.

Indoor air quality means going beyond setting the temperature

The world is a complicated place, surrounding everyone with allergens that result in unsafe indoor air. Air quality is a real problem for homeowners, with documented risks and consequences of breathing in unhealthy airborne pollutants and organic irritants. And did you know your carpet, wall paint, and even your furniture can give off harmful toxins? Air quality matters more than you may have thought.

Does anyone in your family suffer from hay fever, asthma, or just frequent headaches? If so, indoor air quality safety should be a real concern. Today, pure comfort goes beyond just managing the indoor temperature, no matter how “smart” the thermostat.

You don’t have to chances with the well-being of your family. You can avoid breathing in allergens or ingesting, potentially dangerous particles by installing a high-performance IAQ system in your home. Think of it as a gift of good health that your family will always appreciate.

How Do UV Lights Work?

Ultra Violet or UV Light destroys contaminants with beams of light! They operate at a frequency that breaks up contaminants or deactivates them, through wavelengths that cause the DNA of the molecules to break down, destroying their ability to replicate. Also, bacteria and mold thrive in darkness, and UV Lights shine within the ductwork to minimize the dark areas, therefore decreasing all chances of the microorganisms to survive.

With a UV Light system installed, your air passes through the chamber that houses the UV light bulbs and is instantly purified. Some systems utilize a high-output germicidal UVC that kills or deactivates germs, viruses, and molds. Your home will enjoy the same germicidal UV technology trusted by hospitals. Properly installed, such a system will help reduce the spread of the flu, colds, COVID-19, and others.

A UV system will also keep your HVAC equipment cleaner, allowing it to work more efficiently. It only takes a few hours to install. And like an ordinary light bulb, UV systems typically have a two-year bulb replacement cycle.

What about humidity control?

If the air in your home is too humid, it can promote mold growth and allergy symptoms; if it is too dry, it can lead to undesirable effects. If the humidity levels in your home become too low, often because of an aggressive cooling cycle (summer) or too high of a heating cycle (winter), it can be harmful in a few ways, including:

  • Dry throatAPRILAIRE 1830 cropped
  • Allergies
  • Dry, itchy skin
  • Frequent coughs
  • Eye irritation
  • Headaches
  • More frequent illnesses (viruses love dry air)
  • Increased static
  • Dry and cracking wood furnishings

That is where a humidifier comes in. With the right humidification system integrated within your new existing HVAC system, you’ll eliminate these common complaints. A humidification system from Schaible’s will work in the background, keeping your air at the optimal humidity level.
