The New Jersey Spill Compensation and Control Act (commonly referred to as the Spill Fund Act) provides financial assistance to eligible property owners whose private drinking water wells have been impacted by hazardous substance contamination. The program is administered by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) through the Environmental Claims Administration (ECA).
If testing determines that your private well water has been contaminated by certain hazardous substances, you may qualify for compensation to restore a safe drinking water supply. In many cases, this includes the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of a Point-of-Entry Treatment (POET) system designed to treat your home's water supply.

Eligibility is determined by the NJDEP, and all claims are subject to review and approval by the Environmental Claims Administration.
